Applications are invited from qualified candidates for selection as Range Forest Officer to fill the vacancies earmarked to the Direct Recruitment from among candidates who possess a Degree in Science or Engineering. The selected candidates shall be required to undergo 18 months Forest Rangers Course during 2011-2012 in any one of the State Forest Service Colleges under the Directorate of Forest Education, Government of India, Dehradun and one year practical training in the department.

6 Age : 19-28 :- Only candidates born between 2-1-983 and 1-1- 1992 (both dates are included) are eligible to apply for this post. [The upper age limit will be relaxed by 5 years in the case of Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe Candidates and 3 years in the case of Backward Classes. In the case of Ex- service men the maximum age limit will be 37(Thirty seven) years irrespective of caste.]
7. Educational Qualifications:
(1) Candidates must possess a Degree in Science or Engineering from a University, Institution or Deemed University recognized by Government of India or Government of Kerala with at least one of the following subject:-
Agriculture, Botany, Chemistry, Computer Application/Computer science, Engineering (Agriculture/Chemical/Civil/Computer/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical), Environmental Science, Forestry, Geology, Horticulture, Mathematics Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science, Zoology.
8. Competitive Examination : Candidates will have to appear for a written examination to be conducted by Kerala Public Service Commission on the following subjects.
COMPULSORY SUBJECT
1. General Knowledge : 100 marks
2. English (Essays and Precise writing etc) : 100 marks
9.TENTATIVE SCHEDULE :
1. Physical Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test-2011 November .
2. Written Test – 2011 December.
3. Walking Test & Interview – 2012 February.

11. Method of Submitting Applications:-
Applications with a latest photo uploaded, shall be submitted On-line only photo should be the one taken within 6 months. Candidates name and date of photograph taken should be printed below the photo. Detailed instructions regarding the submission of applications are available in the Website of the Kerala Public Service Commission viz. www.keralapsc.org. No application fee is required. The barcode number in the application form shall be quoted in all further enquiries/ correspondences. The admission ticket for the Physical efficiency test, Written test and Interview may be downloaded from the website using the bar code number. The documents to prove qualification, age and community have to be produced as and when called for. Applications which are not submitted in accordance with the instructions given in the website will be summarily rejected.
